Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
1. About these terms
These terms explain how Walk with Claire Pet Care provides dog walking services. Walk with Claire Pet Care is run by me, Claire, based in Stubbington, Hampshire. You can contact me on 07818 440072. By booking a walk, you agree to these terms.
2. Meet and greet
All new clients receive a free meet and greet before walks begin. This gives us a chance to discuss your dog's routine, behaviour, health and any individual needs.
3. Your dog's health
To help keep all dogs safe, you confirm that your dog:
- is fit enough for walking
- is vaccinated as recommended by your vet
- is treated for fleas and worms where appropriate
- wears a collar or harness with identification
- is microchipped in accordance with UK law
- is not suffering from a contagious illness
- is not a breed or type listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (including the XL Bully) — for insurance reasons I am unable to walk listed types
Please let me know if your dog's health or behaviour changes.
4. Telling me about your dog
So I can keep your dog and others safe, please tell me before walks begin about anything that affects how your dog should be handled. This includes any history of aggression or biting, strong fears, a tendency to escape or slip their collar or harness, and any ongoing health conditions. If important information has not been shared, I may need to pause or end the service to protect your dog, other dogs and myself.
5. Behaviour
I always do my best to match compatible dogs on shared walks.
If I believe a shared walk is no longer suitable for your dog, I may recommend moving to solo walks or, where appropriate, end the service.
Female dogs in season cannot join shared walks. Solo walks may be possible by arrangement.
6. Off-lead walking
Dogs are walked on lead unless we have agreed otherwise. Off-lead walking happens only with your written consent, in places where it is safe and legally permitted, and at the owner's risk.
7. Transport
Where transport is needed, dogs travel in my car secured with seat harnesses. By booking, you consent to your dog being transported in this way.
8. Veterinary emergencies
If your dog becomes ill or injured while in my care, I will make every reasonable effort to contact you.
If immediate veterinary treatment is needed and I cannot reach you, I may seek treatment from your usual veterinary practice or the nearest available veterinary surgeon.
Any veterinary costs remain the owner's responsibility.
9. Access to your home
Where keys or access codes are provided, they will be kept securely and used only for the purpose of providing agreed services.
10. Keys and home access
Please make sure I can safely access your property at the agreed time. If I cannot gain access because keys, locks, access codes or other arrangements are unavailable or do not work, the walk may be treated as a late cancellation in accordance with the Cancellation Policy.
11. Photos of your dog
I may occasionally take photos during walks to send to you. I will only use photos on my website or social media with your permission.
12. Payment
Payment is due in accordance with the invoice or other agreed arrangement.
Late payment may result in future bookings being suspended until payment has been received.
13. Cancellations
Please refer to the separate Cancellation Policy.
14. Severe weather
Walks may be shortened, rescheduled or cancelled if weather conditions make walking unsafe.
15. Your responsibility for your dog
As the owner, you remain legally responsible for your dog. You are responsible for any injury or damage your dog causes to people, animals or property, except where it results from my negligence.
16. Liability
Reasonable care is taken at all times while your dog is in my care.
Dogs can behave unpredictably and outdoor environments cannot be made entirely risk-free. Except where required by law, Walk with Claire Pet Care cannot accept responsibility for events outside its reasonable control.
17. Changes
These terms may occasionally be updated. The latest version will always be available on this website.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
